Mobility company ComfortDelGro has acquired ground transport and accommodation specialist CMAC Group for £80 million.

United Kingdom-based CMAC manages journeys for almost 3 million travelers through partnerships with airlines, train operators and corporations. It also offers private and ride-share transfers at airports, stations and ports via its Suntransfers brand.

It has operations across a number of European countries including the U.K., France, the Netherlands and Spain.

The company has been acquired via ComfortDelGro’s subsidiary CityFleet Networks and is “aligned with ComfortDelGro’s strategy to expand its point-to-point mobility services and offerings and increases the group’s footprint to 12 countries worldwide.”

A statement went on to say that CMAC would remain independent with its senior leadership team in place.

Peter Slater, CEO of CMAC Group, said, “We are excited to be part of a bigger family in Europe and globally. With our strong history, innovation expertise and team, CMAC would be growing aside with ComfortDelGro Group and will continue to deliver value to our customers and partners.”

Edward Thomas, CEO of Europe for ComfortDelGro, said, “As an established player in providing wide-ranging emergency passenger transport services to businesses, CMAC is complementary to our operations in the U.K. and Europe, allowing us to expand our business-to-business offerings in the region. In addition, as part of the wider ComfortDelGro Group, CMAC will be able to tap into our deep market knowledge to grow its business and reach.”

In 2018, CMAC acquired B2B taxi business Cabfind with the two companies said to have combined revenue of more than £50 million at the time.
