Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red said that it is not interested in being a part of a larger gaming firm.

That’s according to VGC, per a Parkiet interview with Adam Kiciński, who transitioned from CEO to chief strategy officer as of January 1.

Kiciński said, “We have worked our whole lives to get to the position we have now. And we believe that in a few years we will be even bigger and stronger. We have ambitious plans and we are passionate about what we do. We value our independence.”

He also addressed whether CD Projekt Red would instead acquire any gaming studios for itself.

Kiciński said that the firm isn’t planning to purchase any firm at the time.

However, he said, “Of course, we are open to ideas that could accelerate the implementation of our strategy.”

Back in September 2023, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 sold over 25 million units since its 2020 launch.

Meanwhile, at the time, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, released on September 25, 2023, moved three million copies.
